Built in East Boothbay, Maine, 1921 Bowdoin was built for arctic service. She became the Official sailing vessel of Maine in 1986 and has crossed the Arctic Circle 27 times. She is now serves as the sail training vessel for the Maine Maritime Academy

A large number of yachts are tied up today around the Royal NS Yacht Squadron (AIS Targets in the ARM) and on the waterfront. These vessels arrived yesterday completing the biennial Ocean Race from Marblehead MA to Halifax.
Also Seen today, A fleet of Opti’s – training the sailors of tomorrow.
Tied up at the Cable Wharf are a group of 3 Sailboats from Norway.

The Amistad Arrived in port this afternoon, and tied up for the start of tall ships, the bulk of which are expected tomorrow, from Boston. Expect lots of coverage over the coming days

The Bi-Annual Marblehead to halifax Ocean race departs this Sunday at 1300. The record time is 33 hours, so expect arrivals Tuesday.

The ship is open to the public Tuesday from 3 p.m. top 5 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A welcome ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday.She departs Thursday for Boston.
