The French Naval vessel Fulmar tied up at tall ships quay today. She is a converted fishing trawler, and patrols the french waters off St Pierre and Miquelon.

Another USCG Visitor.
The USCG bay Class Icebreaking Tug Bristol Bay arrived this morning and tied up at Tall Ships Quay. Sister vessels Morrow bay and Thunder bay Have stopped here in the past. These tugs tend to work the great lakes in the winter, and the Atlantic coast in the summer.
The USCG James is due to Depart around 3pm today.
USCGC James to visit Today
The US Coast Guard Cutter James arrived around 2pm today. She is brand new, having just been commissioned on August 8 in Boston.
The 5th National Security Cutter, at 418′ in length they are similar in size to a Canadian Patrol Frigate. They also Use the same 57mm gun. The builder has proposed 2 frigate variants, so this may be a technology show for the Single Surface Combatant to be built under NSPS.
I believe she is the First National Security Cutter to Visit Halifax.
USCG Campbell in for port Visit
USCGC Campbell (WMEC-909) is a United States Coast Guard medium endurance cutter based at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. She arrived this morning for a visit, and tied up at the dockyard.

US Navy submarine due tommorow
Rumors are About that a US Navy vessel is due in port tomorrow. It reportedly has US and Canadian escorts, which suggests it might be an aircraft carrier…
The US Memorial Day weekend is coming up, so its not uncommon to Have US Visitors that weekend.
More as known.
update: U.S. Navy submarine is due tommorow around 9am. She is due to tie up at shearwater so we know it’s a nuclear powered vessel.
Dutch Sub HNLMS Bruinvis pays port Visit
Halifax today was visited by Dutch navy submarine HNLMS Bruinvis (S810). She Tied up at the the dockyard, just after 1pm. She is a diesel boat, as Nuclear subs tie up at Shearwater. The Last member of the Walrus Class, She is 222′ long, and was commissioned in July 1994

HDMS Niels Juel for port Visit
The Danish warship HDMS Niels Juel arrived late yesterday afternoon for a visit. She is the third and final ship of the Iver Huitfeldt class of frigates that entered service with the Royal Danish Navy in 2012 and 2013.
Very similar in design to the Absalon class, these vessels are configured for Area Air Defense – a Role held by the Canadian Iroquois Class. Savings were achieved in design time and construction by re-using the basic design of the Absalon class.

HNoMS Fridtjof Nansen for a visit
The Norwegian frigate HNoMS Fridtjof Nansen arrived yesterday for a port visit. As first of class, several of her sister ships have visited halifax in recent years. She was commissioned in 2006.
She is tied up at NB4 behind HMCS Preserver. The ferry will give the best view

USCGC Escanaba Visits
The US Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba Arrived in Halifax this morning and tied up at the Navy dockyard.
typical of the USCG’s Medium Endurance Cutters, she was last here in 2010.
