Maple Lea towed to Sydney after breakdown
General cargo vessel Maple Lea reportedly suffered engine failure off Nova Scotia on Feb 17 13 and was adrift north of Prince Edward Island. According to AIS, vessel was en route to Skaw, Shetland.
Maple Lea is tying up at Sydport in Sydney ns. She was towed in with the tug Atlantic Beach and the tug Spanish Mist. They’re currently transferring generators and heaters from the Beach to the Maple Lea.
Update 02/22:
I have since learned that the Maple Lea was Carrying Potatoes from Summerside, and may have been struck by a Coast Guard vessel

Natcha C
The Natcha C is a Ice Class A1 Multipurpose dry cargo vessel, strengthened for heavy cargoes, and equipped for the carriage of containers. She is Operated by Caisbrook Shipping, Whos website offers a Spec Sheet with General Arangement drawing of her.
She was built in 2002, and has been working cargo at Pier 27 for the past few days.
Jan Van Gent for Nirint
Nirint Shipping has been adding new ships to its halifax service as of late.
Jan Van Gent was built by Damen shipyards Yichang China in 2009. She is a Dry cargo multi-purpose container vessel mening she can carry 686 TEU of continers or a combination of conatiners and 609.990 cbft of bulk product in 2 holds.
She sails for Holand today.

Everything Old Is new Again NOVIA for Melfi
As depicted in the oil painting* Above, Novia arrived today for Melfi Lines. She is the ex Melfi Iberia, and is one of the ships replacing Teval and Marwan. Melfi Ibera was a Halifax Regular several years ago.

New Melfi Ships
As reported in Early November, Melfi Lines Vessels Marwan and Teval are bound for the scrapers.
Thier replacements have appered on the Schedule.
Novia will appear for the first time on Dec 10, and will be followed on the 24th by Vecht Trader.
Novia is actully a returning vessel, she previously servered Halifax for Melfi as Melfi Iberia (Photo Above)

Jan Van Gent, In Halifax for Nirint. She was built in 2009, and is owned by Wagenborg Shipping
Nils B At Pier 25
Nils B Has been tied up at pier 25. She reportely has engine troubles.
Previously she filled in for Fusion on the St Pierre run, While Fusion was being Maintained.
