The coast guard search and rescue ship Wilfred Grenfell pulled into Halifa late this afternoon. She had been in the Shelburne area last week.
This is her first stop in Halifax since at least 2008 – she is normally based in Newfoundland

She was decommissioned, put back on as a spear when the Leonard j cowley went on mid life and was crewed by the Leonard j cowley (including my dad) doing fisherys patrol, when the cowley was done, they moved the Grenfel home port to Halifax, at least Temporally
Good day. Photo is #CCGSHIP Sir Wilfred Grenfell heading to CCG Base Dartmouth, Bedford Basin.(Note correct vessel name & spelling) http://www.ccg-gcc.gc.ca/Fleet/CCGS-Sir-Wilfrid-Grenfell
