Nolhanava
The Nolhanava is back. She recently spent time in China having a new exhaust scrubber installed (note how large the funnel is now) Besides the Scrubber, the ship got the new Green and yellow paint job (which looks good, except for the bridge and the bright yellow striping which is just weird.
Nolhanava returned with a full load of container stacked on deck. They appear to share the logo that is on the funnel of the ship, so they may be attempting to move fright in their own boxes now.
Nolhanava is returning to the St Pierre run.
Due this Saturday – The Schooner Katie Belle
The Schooner Katie Belle was built by a couple of cousins in Stewiacke. They launched it last year, moved it to Parsboro where they installed masts and rigging, and have sailed it as far south as Charleston South Carolina.
They will be arriving in Halifax This Saturday.

CMA CGM Tage
The largest containership yet to tie up in Halifax had a foggy arrival this morning. Tieing up at pier 41 just after 7am. She’s rated at 9300+ teu making her 300teu larger then the last largest ship.
The much smaller Em Kea tied up forward of Tage at pier 42. Also running for CMA CGM she is their entry on the weekly Maersk service which stops in Montreal and Halifax. Em Kea is rated at just over 3000teu
US Navy Sub USS New Mexico @ Shearwater
Paying a visit for the Memorial Day weekend, the USS New Mexico arrived around noon and tied up at shearwater.
An american navy vessel usually stops in for the memorial day weekend to commemorate US Sailors buried on Deadmans island from the war of 1812.
SVITZER CAUCEDO to Ectug
The Tug Svitzer Caucedo showed up in Halifax today. If it looks familiar, it was built at the east isle shipyard in Georgetown PEI in 2003, and is of the same design as Atlantic Towings Halifax Tugs and Svitzers Nerthus and Njal, which are now working the port of Montreal. Its likely that this tug will be Canadianized here, and move on to Montreal.
Svitzer Caucedo currently is registered in the British Virgin Islands, and appers to have previously been operating as Caucedo in the Dominican Republic.
Atlantic Sail Maiden Call on Maiden Voyage
Today brought the arrival of Atlantic Sail – the Second of the New G4 Class of Ships for ACL. Atlantic Star arrived earlier in the week, making this the first week both eastbound and westbound vessels have been the new G4 Class.
