Mexican Navy Barque ARM CUAUHTEMOC has arrived

Cuauhtémoc arrived this morning – Her Crew put on a good show, manning the masts for her arrival at the Cable Wharf.
She will be open for tours 11-4 today, and 10am-8pm Friday, Saturday to Sunday.
Before sailing at 10am on the 16th.
Cuauhtémoc is named after the last Aztec emperor and servea as a training vessel for the Mexican Navy. She is the last of four sister ships built by the Naval Shipyards of Bilbao, Spain, in 1982, based on a design similar to the 1930 designs of the German firm Blohm & Voss so she is a modern version of the  USCGC Eagle. Her contemporaries Include Gloria (1968 columbia) Guayas (1977 Ecuador) and Simon Bolivar (1980 Venezuela)

AUDACIA – Pipe layer at Anchorage1

Today brought the arrival of the AUDACIA – a pipe laying vessel. She arrived overnight and took to Anchorage 1.

She was recently working on the Hebron oil field laying part of the offshore loading system – the large Stinger is used to roll the pipeline into the sea, and is lowered when in use.

HMCS Preserver to be paid off this year

word is HMCS preserver will be paid off before the end of the year. She is currently being used as an alongside refueling depot, and thus retains her commission.

her twin,HMCS Protector recently arrived in Mersey NS to be scrapped. Algonquin also departed Esquimalt yesterday to be scrapped along side.

Balmoral Passengers Contract Norovirus

Passengers aboard the Cruise Ship Balmoral have contracted the Norovirus. The Ship is Tied up in Saint John NB today, and is Due in Halifax Wednesday.

The ship is on a 34day transatlantic Cruise. It departed Southampton, England on April 16 and will stop in Ponta Delgada, Azores (20 Apr Early AM-Late PM); Hamilton, Bermuda (26 Apr Early AM-Late Night); St George, Bermuda (27 Apr Early AM-Early PM); Norfolk, Virginia (29 Apr Early PM-Late PM); Baltimore, Maryland (30 Apr Early AM); Baltimore, Maryland (01 May Late PM); New York City, New York (03 May Early AM); New York City, New York (04 May Late PM); Newport, Rhode Island (05 May Early AM-Late Night); Boston, Massachusetts (06 May Early PM); Boston, Massachusetts (07 May Late Night); Portland, Maine (08 May Early AM-Late PM); Saint John, New Brunswick (09 May Early AM-Late Night); Halifax, Nova Scotia (11 May Early AM-Late PM); St Johns, Newfoundland (13 May Early AM-Early PM); Cork, Ireland (18 May Early PM-Late Night); Southampton, England (20 May Early AM)
